Ingredient manufacturer Layn Corp opened a new Global Innovation Center in Shanghai and a new production facility in Guangxi, China, quadrupling its current production capacity.

The company, which specializes in vertically integrated sweeteners, flavors, and botanical ingredients, said that the new facility will help the company decrease production costs. The new facility in Guangxi is right in an area where monk fruit and sweet blackberry leaf agriculture is concentrated.

Meanwhile, the new Global Innovation Center was established to bring together “leading industry scientists and experts to support Layn’s ongoing commitment to the discovery of new innovations in sweetener and flavour systems,” according to the company.

"As a leading pioneer in the high-intensity, natural sweetener industry for over two decades, we've seen a significant increase in demand from our international customer base," said Elaine Yu, President of Layn USA, the California-based, stateside business of Chinese Layn Corp.

"In today's environment of strict government regulation and consumer expectations regarding quality, transparency and sustainability, it is paramount that we continue to provide the best sweetener solutions today, and constantly drive innovation for tomorrow.“
