Powder specialist Glatt to exhibit fluid bed processing solution at SupplySide West
At the upcoming SupplySide West show in Las Vegas, German manufacturer Glatt will highlight its technologies to dry, agglomerate, granulate, and coat powdered ingredients.

The company serves the U.S, Canadian and Puerto Rican markets with nearly 200 employees out of a 186,000 square foot facility in Ramsey, NJ, where it uses a fluid bed processing technique, among other things, to deliver powders to customers.

According to the company, this process gives customers in the food, fine chemical, and feed industries to develop beverage powders made of semi-hydrophobic components or agglomerated instant powders, which do not separate and offer high solubility in liquids.

“Nutritional supplements such as fish oils, probiotics or vitamins can also be covered with functional film coatings that provide better active ingredient release profiles or taste masking,” the company said.

“Using spray granulation, liquid food additives can be dried and the final particle size can be readily manipulated. Product development consultation and equipment is available for early stage trials and testing.”

In addition to the New Jersey operation, Glatt, headquartered in Weimar, Germany, operates affiliated enterprises in Switzerland, Russia, and India. The company will be exhibiting at Booth TT115 at the upcoming SupplySide West 2017 show in Las Vegas, Sept. 25-29.
