The amazon.com-like platform allows manufacturers to purchase quality raw materials directly from overseas factories, providing considerable cost and time savings. Product is shipped from warehouses in California, New Jersey, and the recently opened facility in Miami. Ingredientsonline.com has over 3,500 registered supply-chain users, said the company.
“As ingredientsonline.com continues to attract these global factories, we realize we need to establish our infrastructure in India, so we’ve hired our first employee and have opened an office in Mumbai,” said the company in a press release. Pooja Salgaonkar has joined the company as VP of business development, based in Mumbai.
Pooja will also be working with Merieux NutriSciences in India for factory auditing and the testing of ingredients prior to shipping to the US.
“After these factories go through our auditing, testing and QC approval process, we will be adding potentially hundreds of ingredients to the ingredientsonline.com platform including organic ingredients,” added the company.
