Bare Snacks... Keep it simple, stupid
Fruit-fueled brand Bare Snacks also taps into consumer demand for simple, nutritious, whole-food snacks, says CEO Santosh Padki, who says the brand - available in thousands of stores from Starbucks to Target - is generating double-digit growth, and is now branching out into baked coconut snacks coated with chia.
The crunchy texture of the snacks - which are baked using a proprietary process - is key to their success with adults, who don't always like the powdery, melt in your mouth texture of freeze-dried fruits, but don't want to eat fried banana chips or chewy/leathery dehydrated apple pieces, he claimed. "In stores that stock our banana chips, we're generating sales three-to-four times higher than fried banana chips."
He added: "Fruit and vegetable snacks are one of the fastest growing categories in snacks, and we're growing at twice the pace of the category overall."
The new baked coconut snacks come in three varieties: Chia + vanilla, chia + pineapple, and chia + flax.
