Impossible Foods: Making plant-based meats and cheeses possible
Founded in 2011 by Stanford biochemistry professor Patrick Brown, Impossible Foods develops next generation meats and cheeses made entirely from plant sources like wheat, coconut and potatoes.
Pacer said the California company wanted to develop a ‘hamburger replacement’ with “all of the flavour and health but none of the meat”.
The concept has attracted $182m (€165.66m) so far in funding and investors include Bill Gates and Hong Kong business magnate and second richest person in Asia Li Ka-Shing.
