Much has been said about the requirements that the Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA) have for the industry. The most pressing is to register facilities with the FDA.

Despite this being an ‘easy one’ for the industry, there is some concern that foreign facilities are falling behind on FSMA.
Ben England, principal in the consultancy FDAImports.com, told us that a large number of foreign food facilities likely will not be in compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act re-registration guidelines when the deadline passes.
