Thinking Newtrition with BASF: CLA hits the big time with Evolve Muscle Milk launch
BASF presented a series of innovative product concepts at the show this year, from "O" MegaBite crackers with omega-3s and vitamin D, to a Jet Pack energy drink with calcium and vitamin B12, and heart-healthy gummies with Vegapure plant sterols.
But the product generating the most excitement at the booth was Evolve, a new protein shake that Cytosport is preparing to launch under the Muscle Milk brand, which features BASF's body-shaping ingredient Tonalin CLA (conjugated linoleic acid).
Well-known in the supplements market, CLA can deliver a reduction in fat mass and an increase in lean muscle mass.
Sweetened with stevia and monk fruit, a 244ml pack of Evolve has 110 calories and 12g of protein per serving.
