Albion Human Nutrition has signed on to sponsor the international charity Vitamin Angels, the company announced recently.   Vitamin Angels seeks to reduce child mortality worldwide by providing infants and children under five with essential micronutrients.

Vitamin Angels, founded by Howard Schiffer, first began as an effort to get high dose vitamin A capsules into the hands of chronically malnourished children in the developing world.  Research had shown that this one intervention of just two capsules per year per child could prevent thousands of cases of blindness.

The organization has since branched out to provide other supplement interventions and to respond to emergencies such as the deadly tsunami in Indonesia and hurricanes Katrina and Rita here in the U.S.

“Nothing is more important than the welfare of the world’s children, and Albion is honored to be involved with this amazing organization,” said Max Motyka, director of sales and marketing at Albion.

Albion is the world leader and innovator in mineral amino acid chelate nutrition. Since its establishment in 1956 Albion has sought to manufacture highly bioavailable nutritional mineral forms and to understand their function and prove their effectiveness through third party research and clinical studies.
