Vitamin Shoppe first retailer to get NSF ‘Certified for Sport’
Vitamin Shoppe has become the first retailer to earn NSF Certified for Sport certification, closing a busy week for the sought after certification program.

The supplement retailer received the certification for a line of products with its True Athlete line of performance nutrition products.

NSF’s Certified for Sport program is designed to minimize the risk that a dietary supplement or sports nutrition product contains banned substances, and is officially recognized by the NFL, NFLPA, MLB, MLBPA, PGA, LPGA, NCAA, and CCES.

“Athletes need to know that the products they use are free from banned substances and other contaminants,” said Marvin Barton, Sports Nutrition Expert at The Vitamin Shoppe. “The NSF Certified for Sport certification provides Vitamin Shoppe customers this assurance and demonstrates that we are committed to helping them achieve better health and performance.”

Ed Wyszumiala, General Manager of NSF’s Dietary Supplements Certification programs said, “As the first retailer to join the NSF Certified for Sport program, Vitamin Shoppe is truly leading the way in demonstrating its commitment to the health and safety of their customers.”

Earlier this week, Wellness International Network and GMP Laboratories of America also announced NSF Certified for Sport certification.
