Increased sales of its krill oil have helped Aker BioMarine post a 50 per cent increase in sales for Q4 2009.

Compared to Q4 2008, when the company had an operating revenue of NOK 18 million (€ 2.2 million), Q4 2009 had operating revenues of NOK 50 million (€ 6.1 million), said the company.

The maojory of revenues came from sales of Superba Krill oil, with 80 per cent of this coming from customers in the US.

“ EBITDA was minus NOK 36 million (€ 4.4 million), compared with minus NOK 54 million (€ 6.6 million) in the fourth quarter of 2008. The EBITDA development is attributable to accrued inventory changes, which have no cash flow effect,” said the company.
