US supplements trade group Natural Products Association (NPA) has appointed Daniel Fabricant, PhD, as interim executive director and CEO while the search continues for a full-time successor.

Fabricant, who has been vice president of scientific and regulatory affairs at NPA for almost five years, will be taking up the interim role on August 3, following the resignation of David Seckman, who holds the position through July.

Fabricant currently directs NPA’s GMP Certification Program, as well as the NPA-US Pharmacopeia ingredient testing program in China and the group’s natural certification and TruLabel programs.

Seckman is leaving the group in order to take up a position to head the Food Processing Suppliers Association, which is an association of ingredient, services and equipment suppliers to the global food and beverage industries.
