DSM Nutritional Products has won a Frost & Sullivan award for Global Excellence in Quality in infant nutrition for implementing new safety standards.

DSM developed a new infant formula grade in 2008 to meet changing manufacturer and consumer needs and concern about constituent parts of infant nutrition formulas in the wake of food contamination scares such as the melamine incident stemming from China last year.

DSM said quality, traceability and reliability was improved due to the fact it sourced its micronutrients from its own factories, not third parties.

DSM is highly honored to receive this recognition. In introducing our innovative new baby food grade, we are responding to the growing concerns of manufacturers and consumers alike about the safety of infant formula products ” said Fabiana Assis, DSM global marketing manager in infant nutrition.
