Bergstrom restructuring eyes the future

With one eye on anticipated future growth, Bergstrom Nutrition,
formerly Cardinal Nutrition, has announced a restructuring plan for
its management team.

"Bergstrom Nutrition has been fortunate to experience continued growth due in large part to our early investments in our process and product research,"​ said Roma Bergstrom, CEO. "After evaluating our sales and marketing functions, our board of directors decided to make some changes to ensure we can effectively serve customers' needs as we continue to expand."​ The 19-year-old ingredient supplier is a leading manufacturer of MSM (methylsulfonylmethane, the isoxidised form of dimethyl-sulfoxide) and is said to operate the only facility solely dedicated to production of licensed MSM. The restructuring has already seen David Lakey, who was serving as Bergstrom Nutrition's president, and Grant Bergstrom, the company's vice president of sales, leave the company. Bergstrom confirmed that the company's strategic direction and ownership has not changed. "Our search for a new company president is well underway,"​ said Roma Bergstrom. "We look forward to making an announcement in the near future."​ In addition to these changes, the vice president of sales will also be replaced, and this will be accompanied by an evaluation of the sales structure to meet specific goals for growth and diversification.
