Last week's SupplySide East show in Secaucus, New Jersey witnessed
record participation, according to the trade show's organizers
Virgo Publishing.

Opening May 1 at noon, the largest SupplySide East to date saw more than 3,600 participants flock to an exhibit hall occupying 248 companies in more than 323 booths. In an increasingly globalized industry, such events provide the crucial networking opportunities not often found in the daily rhythm of suppliers' working lives. Networking kicked-off at the International Welcome Reception, where more than 200 executives from around the world attended the event sponsored by OptiPure and Soft Gel Technologies. Next up was the Opening Reception, held in the exhibit hall on May 1, and co-sponsored by DSM, Kyowa Hakko and Unigen Pharmaceuticals. Besides commercial networking, SupplySide East also offered participants the opportunity to learn the latest developments in their field. EPAX AS sponsored the three-day Education Program, which give industry members information on scientific research, marketing strategies and regulatory updates. "These sessions serve a vital role in helping communicate the positive contributions of industry players and keeping everyone informed on top-of-mind issues," said EPAX marketing manager Gunilla Traberg. The three-day VendorWorks program also enlightened attendees with exhibitor-sponsored sessions on ingredient science, manufacturing information, formulation knowledge and marketing. The upcoming SupplySide West 2007 will take place from November 6 to 8 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
