Nutritional supplement supplier Metagenics has received the National Nutritional Foods Association (NNFA) stamp of approval for Good Manufacturing Practices.

The company - heavily involved in researching the effects of natural ingredients on genetic expression - said this week that it had also been awarded the NNFA'a sterling ŒA rating for compliance to standards.

"Many companies may claim they are GMP compliant, but few allocate the financial resources to independently verify their GMP programs and achieve GMP certification," said Jeff Katke, chairman and CEO of Metagenics. "We are proud to have successfully achieved NNFA GMP certification," he added.

The GMP certification arrived after a comprehensive audit conducted by third-party inspectors of Metagenics‚ plants and grounds, sanitation, equipment, quality operations, production and process controls, and warehouse, distribution, and post-distribution practices.

The firm has over 400 natural products on its books.
