Peace Mountain Natural Beverages has launched a high magnesium non-carbonated mineral water, called Peace Mountain Mineral Water, targeted at female consumers.

The company claims that naturally occurring magnesium has been shown in a growing number of studies to fight many of the medical problems which affect women, such as heart disease, migraine headaches, and PMS.

It added that the high bioavailability of magnesium in water is now recognised as a first line adjunct for treatment of heart attacks and strokes. Magnesium may also help prevent migraines, stress, and fatigue.

"In consideration of emerging information on the potential health benefits and possible disease prevention qualities of water rich in magnesium, Peace Mountain is poised to become the next major nutraceutical beverage that may play an important role in promoting good cardiovascular health,"​ said Richard H. Davis, president of Beverage Marketing USA.

Findings by Dr Burton M. Altura in the journal Magnesium​ and by R.M. McLean in the American Journal of Medicine​ show that drinking mineral water high in magnesium may prevent migraines, noted the company.

Trademarks for Peace Mountain's​ product are registered and pending worldwide.
