The Fourth International Symposium on the Role of Soy in Preventing and Treating Chronic Disease is to take place in San Diego on 4-7 November 2001. The event will be a platform for scientists around the world to present the most recent research about the health benefits of soy. SoyLife Nederland B.V. and Schouten USA Inc., members of the Royal Schouten Group will Platinum Sponsors of the premier event. "This year's International Soy Symposium will feature an exciting program on both basic and clinical research involving soyfoods and soybean constituents in plenary sessions and in newly expanded dedicated poster viewing sessions,"​ said Stephen Barnes, PhD, Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology, University of Alabama at Birmingham. Specific themes for the program include evaluation of the effects of soybean processing on clinical efficacy and the merits of isolated soy components relative to the complex interactions between the numerous soy nutrients and the effects they have on health.
