
WACKER offers tailored and innovative solutions and products for the functional food and nutraceutical industry. These include an inventive range of materials for improving products and processes. For example our soluble dietary fiber CAVAMAX® for the stabilization of oil-in-water emulsions. This fiber is naturally occurring carbohydrate derived from starch with excellent emulsifying properties. It stabilizes liquid oils efficiently and enables for example oil-based icing applications or emulsifier-free dressings and sauces.
WACKER offers also molecular encapsulation solutions for odor or taste masking, to stabilize sensitive ingredients or to increase the bioavailability of certain ingredients like Curcumin.
Furthermore WACKER produces a high-quality range of non-human, non-animal derived L-cysteine products. Starting from raw materials of vegetable origin and inorganic trace elements, these products are manufactured by our patented fermentation process and therefore are approved for the use in vegetarian, kosher and halal foods. Our cysteine is used, for example, as a processing auxiliary to make baked goods.
