Omega-3 krill oil supplement Schiff MegaRed is to carry the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) eco-label, which reflects the MSC certification of the krill fishery of supplier Aker BioMarine.
"MSC [certification] is being recognized and even demanded by retailers around the world for fresh caught seafood. Now consumers of MegaRed Omega-3 Krill Oil can be assured that the krill supplement they have chosen is certified sustainable, has minimal impact on the environment, and has 100% traceability from sea to shelf," said Matts Johansen, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Aker BioMarine Antarctic.
Assessments against MSC standards are carried out by independently accredited certifiers.
