Omega-3 gains US yogurt and pasta sauce launches

Leading omega-3 suppliers Martek Biosciences and Ocean Nutrition Canada (ONC) have debuted their marquee ingredients in a pasta sauce and frozen yogurt, respectively.

Francesco Rinaldi becomes the first pasta sauce company to employ Martek’s life'sDHA ingredient in the US. The nationwide launch within the company’s ToBe Healthy range will be backed by a print, interactive and broadcast marketing campaign and contain 64mg of life’sDHA per half cup serving.

Pennsylvania-based Turkey Hill Dairy is adding 32mg of ONC’s MEG-3 EPA/DHA offering to each pot of its Pomblueberry Chocolate Truffle Frozen Yogurt, in addition to probiotics, calcium and vitamin D.

The initial launch is specific to grocery outlets in north eastern US states.
