Washington State-based Nutraceutix is continuing to build the IP portfolio for its BIO-tract delivery system with a new patent from the Japanese Patent Office and acceptance of a patent application in Canada.
The Canadian application is expected to be formally issued in the coming days, said the company, making these the fifth and sixth international patents for Nutraceutix’s deliver system.
Last year the US Patent and Trademark Office awarded Nutraceutix a patent for its probiotic delivery system (US Patent #8,007,777, "Delivery System For Biological Component").
Speaking with NutraIngredients-USA in October 2011 Tim Gamble, president and CEO of Nutraceutix, said that any probiotic organisms, “and just about any powdered ingredient” can be used in a BIO-tract tablet/caplet.
Tony Blanch, Director of Quality for Nutraceutix added that the latest patents “reinforce BIO-tract’s emerging position as the de facto industry standard for premium dietary supplements which truly deliver on the therapeutic potential of probiotics.”
