Why omega-3 nutrient claims are important, GOED
A proposed ruling to prohibit the use of omega-3 nutrient content claims would generate consumer confusion by limiting the ways in which manufacturers can communicate meaningful omega-3 references on their products, says the Global Organization for EPA and DHA (GOED).

FDA is currently reviewing comments received in response to its proposed regulatory revision, issued at the end of 2007, and is expected to publish a final rule within the coming year.

In any case, current omega-3 nutrient content claims will be valid for use until at least January 1, 2012. For more information, click here.
