The New Zealand patent office has granted Sabinsa a patent for the process to prepare derivatives of forskolin, namely, isoforskolin and 7-deacetylforskolin.

The patent, the 63rd in Sabinsa’s worldwide Intellectual Property portfolio, furthers the company’s drive in Oceania. NZ Patent No: 568652 “Commercial Process for Making Forskolin and its Derivatives” will be in force until February 2, 2027.

The NZ patent comes hot on the heels of the recent Product Information (PI) numbers for ForsLean 10 and 20 percent from Australia’s TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration), a division of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing, opening the way for ForsLean to enter the Australian market.
