MSU enrols for distance food law courses

Michigan State University has said it is accepting applications for its three-month distance-learning courses on international food law.

The nine three-credit courses being offered start either in the semester starting January 12, 2009 or August 31, 2009.

Courses include an overview course in International Food Laws & Regulations, five regional courses covering Food Regulation in the United States, European Union, Latin America, Canada and Asia, and courses covering the three sister organizations of Codex Alimentarius (the Food Code), OIE (World Organisation for Animal Health) and IPPC (International Plant Protection Convention).

The courses, which last 12-15 weeks and are taught by international experts in the area, have received the ADEC Excellence Award in College and University Distance Education, said the university.
