Do you know who first proposed that lactic acid could prolong life? When was the Human Microbiome Project started? Or which strain is considered the 'Yakult strain'?

To mark the first day of Probiota Americas, hosted by NutraIngredients-USA, in San Diego, we thought we'd test your knowledge to find out how well you know the science, history, and market for probiotics and prebiotics

The three day event will explore the frontier of pre-, probiotic and microbiome science, and how that is applied in the commercial world for food and nutraceutical players everywhere. Speakers from UCLA, Bayer Healthcare, Nestlé Health Sciences, McMaster University, NBTY, The University of Massachusetts, and more will present cutting edge research and business insights.

Probiota Americas will build upon the success of the global Probiota event held annually in Europe for the past eight years. Last year saw more than 200 senior level delegates from over 20 countries and a variety of backgrounds attend the Probiota event in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
