BASF fire affects vitamin A and E supply
A major fire due to a technical issue on March 12 at a BASF plant in Germany will close the plant for a month or more and affect supply of vitamins A and E.

The company declared a ‘Force Majeure’ on vitamin A and Vitamin E products for human and animal nutrition, along with citrus-based aroma chemicals.

It said it would supply customers on a pro-rata basis while the situation at the Ludwigshafen plant was rectified.

The Force Majeure situation is not related to any product safety or quality issues,” it said.

“BASF will continuously inform customers about the development and the details regarding our supply capability with the affected products.”
