It will be able to process fruits like blueberry, elderberry, ginger and rhubarb as well as a series of vegetable concentrates with improved stability.”

“With this strategically important plant acquisition, we are now able to control the whole production chain and quality from field to final product,” said CEO Morten Weidner.

“This is extremely important since it empowers us to obtain our prime goal: to place Nordic Quality in processed fruit and berry products on the global map and become the global leading manufacturer of berry powders and fruit and vegetable concentrates, where taste and colour or bioactivity is shielded against break down.”

Asiros has been promoting polyphenol-rich Nordic redcurrant (Ribes Rubrum) at high doses – a berry that additionally contains omega-3s, 6s and 9s and minerals and fibres.

That ingredients is on-market in a drink called MitoActive that is formulated with "additional magnesium giving it EFSA [European Food Safety Authority] claims relevant to the effects of the extract, including counteraction of tiredness and fatigue which to the consumer means 'more energy'."

"The product is targeted at athletes seeking improved performance and recovery, as well general consumers seeking more energy on a daily basis," said Weidner.
