Kemin secures GRAS status for AssuriTEA Wellbeing green and black tea blend
An independent panel of scientific experts has concluded that Kemin Health’s AssuriTEA Wellbeing proprietary blend of green and black teas is Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS).

The water extracted ingredient, which is already available for use in dietary supplements, can now be targeted at the food and beverage industry for use in everything from breakfast cereals to bars, sports or energy drinks, fruit juices, meal replacements and soft candies, said the firm.

"The expanded GRAS status of AssuriTEA Wellbeing comes at a key time when there is a growing interest among conventional food manufacturers to formulate with ingredients that can contribute established health benefits to their products," said Linda Fullmer, senior vice president of Kemin's nutraceutical business.

Kemin Health - which is best known for its FloraGLO lutein ingredient and Slendesta weight management ingredient – is a division of Kemin Industries, which is based in Des Moines, Iowa.
