In a bid to expand business into the nutraceuticals market, US manufacturer of nutrient systems Fortitech is to invest half a million dollars in brick and mortar.

The company said on Friday that it has invested more than $500,000 to expand its production and laboratory capabilities at its newly acquired facility in Fontana, California.

"With added production capacity we are well positioned to meet the rising demand for nutritional premixes and product development assistance," commented Walter Borisenok, president of Fortitech.

In July last year the company acquired the nutritional premix blending business of Ashland Distribution taking over its premix manufacturing operation located in Fontana.

Since then, Fortitech said that it has already integrated technical and quality control programs and 'upgraded blending, testing, and production equipment', which it expects will more than double capacity.

Fortitech develops custom nutrient systems for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
