J.C. Romero, the Phillies pitcher suspended for testing positive for the performance-enhancer androstenedione, is suing the makers of the OTC dietary supplement he claims is the reason for his positive result.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, a 27-page suit was filed by Romero in the Superior Court in Camden County against the makers and distributors of 6-OXO Extreme: Ergopharm Inc., Vitamin Shoppe, and GNC.

The baseball star alleges negligence, intentional misrepresentation, and consumer fraud. Androstenedione was not listed on the supplement's ingredients list.
